In Memoriam: David Kasowitz, CPA
Mr. Kasowitz graduated from the University of Connecticut in 1970 with a B.S. in Accounting. After college, he worked as an auditor and tax preparer for Price Waterhouse LLP in their Stamford and Bridgeport offices. After five years with Price Waterhouse, he opened his own accounting firm, David J. Kasowitz, C.P.A. that he operated from 1975 to 2005. At that time, the firm changed its name to Kasowitz & Company and is currently operated by Mr. Kasowitz' son, Adam. David Kasowitz continued to assist his son in an advisory capacity until his death in 2014.
Mr. Kasowitz' accounting practice included the representation of non-profit, service, retail, wholesale and small manufacturing companies. It also included the preparation of personal and business tax returns.
Mr. Kasowitz had been a licensed CPA in the State of Connecticut since 1972. He remained a member in good standing of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Connecticut Society of Certified Public Accountants for many years. He underwent numerous accounting peer reviews and received unqualified approvals each time.
